I liked the surrealismhow in John Paul Caponigro's photo, I like the stylephotos he uses pictures of real things and then he edits them to make them have a surrealistic quality's of his photos. In Ansel Adams photo,
    and
photos I liked his style of photo and how he uses certain features to get the Editingviewers attention in all of his photos. And I liked Austin Mann's photo.editing style and how he makes sup par images look like very high quality works of art and I like how all of his photos have a very certain and deep meaning and he shows that meaning in his photos. All around I want to use the surrealism in this unit and try to show my meaning through my photos more.
For this project I will meet the criteria by editing 5 images that are about 1 main concept. I want to explore a surrealistic concept because it is a interesting concept and I have wanted to do this concept for a while now. I will use photoshop to add surrealistic features to my photos. Also I will use some surreal colors to my images. in my pictures I will be focusing on color, texture, leading lines, and fill the frame.

experiment with "moving" subjects. I am hoping to capture a photo"alive" photos, some sort of a street "in motion", with action or life going on
    1) To meet the criteria, I am going to shoot a series of photos, until I find 5 that I am satisfied with for the photo. I will most likely shoot photos at school, my house, and in my neighborhood in order to get the required amount of photos, as well as ones that I feel fit my concept and overall goal of the project.
    2) I want to explore with the concept because I feel that, throughout the semester, many of my photos have had a slightly eerie or dark tone. I feel that this has made many of photos interesting and captivating, but I would like to challenge myself with trying to captivate a very different feeling through the use of different types of subjects and settings.

I decided to look into and do my research on these three artists because their styles of photography are all very different and unique. They each have a style that represents themselves and every photo is amazing. I really like how Annie Leibowitz uses celebrities and puts them in a light that most people would not expect to see. Usually when we see pictures of famous people, we either see random photos taken by paparazzi or photos on magazine covers that have been so washed over and edited that the figures shown are not shown as who they really are. Leibowitz is able to capture the celebrities as themselves and radiating natural beauty in the ways they stand. With sandy Skoglund, I was instantly intrigued by her unique way of using previous sculpture pieces and then creating spectacular images. It's not a style of photography I have ever thought about being done, and it's definitely something that I think is really cool. As for Frans Lanting, I simply love photos of nature and the world's animals and I think he does a well job of freezing onto special and unseen moments within our Earth.
Assignment - Research 3-4 master artists and their work. Shoot at least 24 and up to 36 images for a final series of 3 prints (5 final edits) that were INSPIRED and INFLUENCED--not copied---by the masters' work. These images are to be printed 5x7 or up to 8x10. The final prints will be mounted on white board and presented on the day of the exam, along with the exam paper.

Imogen Cunningham was born in Portland, Oregon in 1883. Cunningham started her journey in photography at the age of 18 in 1901 and was self-taught. She went to school for chemistry and pursued photography as a hobby and side-job, until 1910, where she started her own studio in 1910. At that time, her subjects expanded from portraits and still life to industrial structures and modern architecture. She was a traditional, old-school film photographer.
This image inspired me because, in her work, Cunningham emphasizes the light, form, and pattern in her compositions.
